Jumping In
Sometimes the most important thing that we need is time to heal our wounds before we can take that plunge.
Can I have a little more time before jumping in?
I sometimes even wonder if I'll ever be able to jump in again.

Why the phoenix doesn't rise again
The phoenix
He fears no heights,
He fears no age,
For gravity and time hold no power over him.
But tonight this phoenix has been tormented
by flames that do not bring new life
They burn painfully.
They burn methodically.
Slowly devouring feathers and flesh.
He cries out into the night
But no help comes
And slowly,
the phoenix withers away
to dust
and never rises again
It wasn't the fire that killed the phoenix,
Nor was it age.
It was a broken heart.
No image this time. Just personal musings.

I Wish...

This idea kind of came to me by accident while talking to my cohort in crime, the ninjaneer. It is, however, true to my life, which is why I like it so much. Originally, I was going to use stars, but I have no star pictures and couldn't find a good stock photo. In my search, I came across this stock photo and really loved it. The original can be found here: http://moon-willowstock.deviantart.com/art/Stock-Girl-Dandelion-101951313
Hopefully, you enjoy this secret and can relate. Have a wonderful evening!
As always, Kyra
This is...

Hello, hello. I'm Kyra and I'm very excited to start this blog with my awesome friend, the ninjaneer. For myself, I do not plan on explaining too much behind my secrets. This particular one is quite self-explanatory. Throughout this blog, I plan on using quite a bit of my own photography as it will typically be more meaningful to me, as this one is. If you already know me, you'll know exactly what this secret is about. If you don't, I'm sure you're smart enough to figure it out for yourself. I might also add that not all my "secrets" will be secrets. I sometime find a picture that I just have a witty caption pop into my head that fits well, so I do apologize if some of the "secrets" don't make a lot of sense because some of them aren't really secrets per say. I do believe that while they may not be secrets for me, they're secrets for others or just plain secrets for all of us from time to time. In any case, this is the start of a great idea, I do believe and I hope everyone will enjoy our work as well and find the time to leave comments.

The Who and the Why
Greetings!
You might be wondering who we are. Well too bad for you. All you get to know is that we are a couple of college students that want to share our secrets with someone. Yeah, we know that someone's already stolen that idea *coughPostSecretcough*, but frankly we don't care. We've sent in a few secrets to Post Secret, but we want to share them with more than just Frank.
However, to amuse you all we can divulge to you a little bit more information that just secret sharing college kids. First off, there are two of us that are co-authoring this blog. One of us is an engineering student, the other is an advertising student. Ironically, the engineering student was in art classes in high school and the advertising student was in lots of math and science classes in high school. One of us is Christian, the other is irreligious. One of us is an only child, the other has one sibling. One of us studied martial arts, the other played team sports (soccer and basketball). Oh well, life is full of ironies.
However, life is full of so much more than ironies. It's full of highs and lows, especially in this chapter of our lives. And despite differences that would normally be cause for enmity, the two of us have been great friends for a long time. (A common taste for extreme sarcasm and intolerance of stupidity can do wonders like that)
We believe in simple things. That the human race is capable of good. That stupidity should be frowned upon. That common sense should be common place. That the Government should stay out of our day-to-day affairs. That everyone should look out for the little guy. That people should lighten up. That people should also put on their big boy undies and deal with it when something doesn't exactly go as they want it. That tolerance, honesty, chivalry and friendship should be valued above almost everything else. That families should be close. That real love is out there. That sometimes life sucks. That people should sometimes mind their own business. That people should be able to look out for themselves, but not be hesitant to lend a helping hand.
But most of all, we believe that we all need friends that stick with you through the thick and thin. That will celebrate with you when life is good, and be a strong support when you're down.
